There is so much out there in the world to do, see, taste, smell, hear, experience!

We All Have Dreams…

We all have dreams. Things we want to accomplish, places we want to see and experience and people to meet. Our hopes and dreams are great. They are worthy and help to keep us moving forwards, to continue to grow and become more ourselves. Stagnancy yields no rewards. Yet we all have something that stands in the way of us achieving our ideal lives. What is it?


Fear – an anxious feeling, caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, will cause us pain or is a threat. Everybody has something that they fear. For all of us, there are multiple things to fear. Many fear never finding love or happiness. We fear failure, pain, separation, death, the unknown. The list is endless.

We use these fears as an excuse to not go after whatever it may be that we want, whether it’s a career, our relationships with others or ourselves, the way we look, building a home or a company, helping others or anything else we dream about. Fear is a great excuse to stay in our comfort zones. We are comfortable with what we know – so why should we step outside of safety?

The problem with staying in these safe, comfort zones is that we will not grow. We become stagnant. Time passes, and we wonder what we’ve been doing these past ten, twenty, thirty years. What did we do with all that time?

Every Day, Do Something That Scares You….

A friend once told me, “Every day, do something that scares you.” Even if it is just one, small thing, do it. You will feel good about it. Facing and overcoming a fear is certainly scary, yet it is also empowering. If you start small and keep at it, every day, you will become more courageous, daring, empowered. It prevents one from getting stuck in a comfortable rut and not making any personal progress.

Be courageous and take the first steps; identify and accept your fears. Then consider what the root cause of that fear is. Write it all down! Perhaps things won’t seem so scary once it’s out in the open. After that has been established, plan how you can change things, or how you will overcome that fear. Make the steps small enough to accomplish, yet challenging enough that you don’t get bored.

Visualise your success – see yourself on a safari, skydiving, visiting the pyramids, observing the Northern Lights, opening your own company, graduating from university, reconciling differences with loved ones, playing a musical instrument, meditating, going for a run, working out, stretching, living a healthy lifestyle, losing weight – whatever it may be! Use all your senses to make it feel as real as possible. Take daily action towards facing and overcoming your fears by doing something that scares you. Little by little you will be making progress.

So Much To See, So Much To Do…

There is so much out there in the world to do, see, taste, smell, hear, experience! Get out there, do something that you’ve always wanted to do! Don’t let your life pass by in a comfortable, mundane blur. The only thing standing in the way of what you want is you. Take action, take charge and create the life you want! Life can be so full, rich, rewarding, beautiful and magnificent. It’s right there. It’s waiting for you. What are you waiting for?
