Question: It seems like Zumba is all the rage in the UAE and globally when it comes to a fun and active way to get fit, can you tell us more about what Zumba actually is?
Zumba is a Latin-inspired, dance-fitness class that incorporates Latin and International music and dance movement, creating a dynamic, exciting, exhilarating and effective fitness program.
Question: Does Zumba compare well with other forms of HIIT exercise and does it provide a good cardio workout?
Zumba combines fast and slow rhythm that tone and sculpt the body using an aerobic/fitness approach to achieve a unique blended balance of cardio and muscle- toning benefits.
Question: From what I have seen Zumba in the UAE is normally offered as a fitness class, can the same principles of Zumba be applied to 1-2-1 personal training in Dubai or with just a small group of friends?
Any kind of fitness class can be done or conducted one 1-on-1, however being in a group environment tends to be more fun and that’s what Zumba is all about.

Question: Zumba seems very energetic, is there a certain level of fitness required or can Zumba be started at a very basic level of fitness?

Question: We all know how important nutrition is to overall health and fitness, are there any high energy foods you would recommend ‘before’ and ‘after’ a Zumba session in the UAE?
I would generally not recommend eating any food 2-3 hours prior to any type of training, be it cardio or strength training.
What I do recommend is making sure that you bring water and keep yourself hydrated before, during and after the training.
Question: As a Zumba personal trainer in Dubai do you think Zumba can benefit a particular area of the body or is it a general workout method? For example, if I want to tone-up the legs and arms is this a good method? Also, will Zumba help me to lose weight?
There are some primary benefits of the Zumba Fitness. It’s a great dynamic core workout, high caloric expenditure, easy non intimidating learning environment, weight loss, positive self image and it’s an exercise in disguise. So, my answer is yes.
Question: Is a Zumba group session suitable for all ages or do you think it might be too energetic for people looking for senior fitness training in the UAE?
There are 11 types of Zumba classes. One of it is called Zumba Gold which is designed specifically for active older adults and fitness beginners.
