About Sharjah Female PT Gemma

Gemma is a female personal trainer and group fitness coach based in Sharjah who can provide 1-2-1, group and online personal training services. An expert in health and fitness Gemma has both a Degree in Sports Science and is a qualified Physical Education Teacher.

With more than 10 years experience Gemma has always been involved with the sport and fitness industry.

Competing at National level in track, field and cross country running events Gemma knows first hand that with dedication and support you can achieve all your fitness goals. 

Being a sports women Gemma has also played county level Rugby union for seven years.

Alongside playing sport Gemma gained a degree in sport science and then went on to qualify as a Physical Education teacher. This high level of training and experience means Gemma can provide fitness coaching for many different client types from those with little or no exercise experience to semi-professionals looking to train harder for increased results.

Having taught for several years as a PE teacher Gemma then decided to set up her own business in the UK as a personal trainer and school sport consultant, this proved to be successful.

Having acquired a number of post natal clients she decided to complete a pre and post natal qualification and specialise in this area.

Pre and post natal fitness is an area that Gemma excels in. After having her first child via Cesarean section she is even more passionate about helping women truly understand the importance of core rehab before returning back to the gym.

She also enjoys the challenge of weight lifting and building strength and has worked with many women introducing them to weights and strength training to build confidence in the gym environment but also to educate clients on the positive benefits weight training can have on strength, posture, fat loss and metabolism to name but a few.

Passionate about health and fitness, Gemma loves helping people achieve their goals, boost confidence and enjoy fitness.

Every client is at a different point in their journey. Post natal clients need emotional support as well as physical support and motivation.

Having a baby can sometimes make finding time for you difficult. Gemma is here to help with that accountability and to support you through the initial stages of core rehab after birth.

Too many women feel it is ‘normal’ to struggle with incontinence or back ache during exercise after having a baby, even years down the line. This should not be the case. She wants to help more women to rehab their core correctly to prevent these issues further down the line.

For all aspects of her personal fitness training she will ensure that exercises are safe and progress accordingly to help increase strength, posture, fitness and muscle mass.

For those ladies that are ready to return to the gym after having their baby Gemma will be available to plan programs suitable for your level of fitness with the aim of building strength and confidence to push yourself to achieve those goals.

Online training is the next step to making the client accountable, self motivated and more aware of the exercises and technique they are completing. It sets clients up to be more independent and aware of their own training.

Gemma uses zoom and just coach. Zoom is used for weekly progress checks. Just coach is used to provide exercise videos, client check ins for daily accountability, progress checks for measurements, photo's and weight. She also uses this app to set challenges and provide recipe ideas.

 

Face to face and online personal training

 

Online coaching in RAK or Sharjah can also be combined with online training too. She will provide the program through the app, clients complete the program using the videos provided and tick it off when completed so i can check they have completed the program.

 

Do I need training equipment for online coaching?

 

For online training it is advisable to have some smaller items of training equipment that can easily be stored at home. This includes:

 

  • Resistance bands
  • Dumbbells
  • A Yoga mat
  • Aerobic step box

 

Using just these small items can make a big difference in the types of exercises you can comfortably do at home.

 

Can I also have diet and nutrition advice included in online coaching?

 

Yes you can. Gemma asks all clients to complete a 1 week food diary, from this she can begin to advise small changes. As the client embeds new habits she then provides recipe packs and food programs to follow. These range from low carb, high protein, vegan etc. All shopping lists are included and preparation instructions.
