Kickboxing is a fantastic cardio workout which improves your health in a variety of ways (insulin sensitivity, body fat, cholesterol), which is particularly effective because it by nature follows a “high intensity interval training” protocol which has been found to be by far the best for those listed benefits. Muscles across the whole body and core also get a good workout as the whole body is used in the different kicks and punches, when performed properly. Even when throwing a right punch, the left toe muscles and every muscle in between is needed to create maximum power.
Kickboxing also has the practical benefits in that it teaches you self defense in the rare case that you might need it. Just knowing that you do have the skills if needed, means that you will be more confident in your own skin as well.
